2008 NBA Draft Profiles - PF

Super Stars

Michael Beasley - PF - Kansas State: His leading play during the 2007-08 season looks to have made him a lock to have his name called first in this year’s draft. Extraordinary offensive skill set. Hard to believe inside/outside game, very speedy, level in the post. Can step externally and plunge the three. Able to strike his man off the dribble. Competent of explosive scoring nights.

Three Stars

Darrell Arthur - PF - Kansas: With upright dimension, wingspan and offensive skills, Arthur is made for the pro game. Very flexible for his size, can sprint the floor, good jumping skills. Fine range on his jumper, he just looks the part of an NBA prospect.

Two Stars

JJ Hickson - PF - NC State State: He needs to return to school and build up more of his game and try again next 2009 draft. Burly finisher, can soak up contact and still score. Extended wingspan. Strapping, thick frame. Good post moves. There is no way Hickson be supposed to stay in this deep draft bearing in mind he is only a borderline first round choice.

One Star

Jason Thompson - PF - Rider: While he will at rest be a work in progress due to the lower level of opposition he played alongside, he could turn out to be a solid NBA pro. NBA dimension and span. Very fit for a man his size. Pleasant looking jump shot. Players with Thompson’s measurement and aptitude don’t come out of the MAAC very frequently.
