The first Monmouth men’s basketball team was formed in the season 1956-1957 in hands of coach Bill Boylan, who leaded the team for 21 seasons.
The Hawks has won 2 NEC Conference Championships and 4 Tournament titles, which have gave them the classification for the NCAA tournament.
Among the most remarkable players for the Hawks are Jack Gordon, who scored 1,095 points for Monmouth University in his 4 years at the school from 1992-1996, Kevin Owens scoring 1,080 points from 1999-2003 and Jason Krayl, who scored 1,050 points from 2000 to 2004.
Last season the Hawks ended the season with an overall record of 19-15. Currently in the 2007-2008 season the Hawks finished their season with an overall record of 7-24 and loosing their last game against Robert Morris. |
