The Sacred Heart Pioneers men's basketball team is a member of the Northeast Conference since 1999.
Dave Bike has been the Pioneers' head coach from 1978 to the present and have an overall record of 445-40.
The top scorer for the Pionners in a single season was Darrin Robinson in 1992-93 season, scoring a total of 831 points (% 32pts per game). Keith Benneth has the best career scoring performance in the school history with 2,431 in his four seasons from 1979 to 1983.
The Pioneer program had a great success last season 2006-2007, they finished the season with an overall record of 18-14 and lost the Conference Tournament final against Central Connecticut.
The team performed very well the past two seasons, aiming for the conference title on postseason and regular season.
The team has not make an NCAA Tournament appearance yet, but last 2007-08 season coach Dave Bike made honor in the NEC Tournament, as they received Mount St. Mary in the finals.
