Eastern Kentucky athletics program is known as the Colonels. The men’s basketball team has been a very successful sport throughout its history.

They have achieved six regular conference championships and another set of post season tournament titles during the mid 1950’s,late 1970’s and more recently in 2005 and 2007.

Since 2005 the team’s Head Coach has been Jeff Neubauer who has taken the Colonels to two NCAA tournament first rounders.

Some of the Colonels most outstanding players – Hall of Famers are: Jack Adams, who established 13 school records during his career used the No. 40 jersey which has been retired in his honor.


Eddie Bodkin the only men’s basketball student-athlete to accumulate more than 1,500 points and 800 rebounds. He presently stands in sixth position on the all-time list averaging 21.1 points per game during his short term career (1963-66). And a two-time All-Ohio Valley Conference selection - Carl Cole who won the 1958-1959 league title.
