The Oregon Ducks are the school’s name for the men’ basketball team.
The Ducks have won several regular championships including their very first one in 1939 by overcoming the Buckeyes.
Later on in 2002 they repeat their conference title win and managed to rank sixth within the nation’s best basketball teams.
That same year of the Oregon Ducks players Luke Ridnour is awarded with the Pacific Ten Conference best player prize. The Ducks’ main rivals are the Oregon State Beavers and the Washington Huskies.
More recently in 2007 the team was able to get to the Elite Eight tournament. The team’s Head Coach is Ernie Kent who received the Pac 10 Coach of the Year Award in 2002. |
He has led the team to 2 regular season and two tournament titles besides four NCAA tournament berths. Some of his assistants are: Mark Hudson, Kenny Payne, Yasir Rosemond and Mark Dillon.
