The Trojans compete in the Pacific 10 conference within the NCAA Division I. The team has won a respected amount of regular season conference titles especially during its early years.

Some of the Trojans most accomplished players who played in the NBA are: Paul Westphal, Cliff Robinson, Bill Sharman and Gus Williams.

Throughout their history the team has also participated several times in the NCAA Final Four.

Only last season in 2007, the Trojans were part of the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament; during the same year they achieved the most wins in a season.

Currently in the 2007-08 season the Trojans will have their 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament as they were selected as an at-large bid.
