The Raiders joined the Patriot League (PLC) on 1990 and have achieved 2 PLC Tournaments since then. The team plays their home games at Cotterell Court, which has a capacity for 3,100 spectators.

From 2001-02 to 2003-04 the Raiders finished with three consecutive regular season winning records. Despite it, the maroon-&-gray haven't had the same luck with any of the next seasons, although they have been close to get it another title. In 2008 season, the team finished with an 18-14 overall record.

Robert J. Duffy, Michael J. Ferrara, John H. Nichols Jr. and Tucker Neale are some of the most outstanding basketball players that started at the Colgate University.
