The University of Arkansas Razorbacks started their men’s basketball program in 1924 in hands of Coach Francis Schmidt. That season they finished with a record of 17-11 overall.

The Razorbacks have played in only two conferences: the Southwest Conference of which they were members for 68 years, winning 22 regular season conferences and 6 conference tournaments, and the SEC where they have been since 1992 and have won won 2 SEC regular season and 1 SEC conference tournament title.

In the season 2006-2007 the Razorbacks finished 3erd in the Western Division with an overall record of 21-14.

In the present season 2007-2008 UA ended the regular season with a record of 23-11 and a conference record of 9-7. The Razorbacks played the SEC Championship Tournament and lost against Georgia. However UA got an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will play against Indiana in the opener.

Coach Pelphrey is aiming for a fresh start in the 2008-09 period and plans for an NCAA Tournament presentation with the help of a good recruiting class.
