The history of the basketball team of the University of Mississippi started in 1909. During the beginning of the 20th century the Mississippi Rebels were one of the best teams in the nation.
Throughout their history the team has not won any regular season championships. The only title they could bring home was 1981 when they became the Conference Tournament Champions.
Coach Kennedy has turned the basketball program into one of the most successful ones in the division. During the 2007-08 season Ole Miss went 13 in a row, making it to the NIT at the end of the campaign.
The schedule for the team this 2008-09 period is more complicated than ever, thus the recruiting class is ready to aim for the NCAA Tournament in 2009.
