Elon University was established in 1889 and their basketball team was formed in 1907 with an overall record of 1-3. The “Rise from the ashes” as they call themselves is also known as the Phoenix.

Their men’s basketball squad joined the Southern Conference last 2003. Three years later, the Phoenix soared high and captured the 2006 Southern Conference North Division Regular Season Championship Title. Last season, the Phoenix landed with a record of 5-13 and occupied the fifth place of the north division of the Southern Conference.

Elon University’s Alumni Gym is the

current home court of the Phoenix basketball squad and it has a capacity of 1,558 seats.
