Wofford College was founded in 1854 by Rev. Benjamin Wofford. The basketball team was formed in 1915 and posted an overall record of 8-4.

The Wofford College basketball squad is also called the Boston Terriers and starts competing in the NCAA Division 1 Southern Conference since 1997.

During their first year of basketball campaign, the Terriers reached the south division finals but trodden down by the dominant Mocs and finished only second.

During the 2006-07, the Wofford College men’s basketball squad’s rally wasn’t that satisfactory. They finished fifth in the south division with a record of 5-13. Whereas in the 2007-08 season the team got better ending with a conference record of 8-12. Coach Mike Young is aiming for a better record this season with his new recruiting class.
