The McNeese State University men's basketball team are nicknamed Cowboys and are part of the East Division of the Southland Conference. The first game in basketball competitions of the gold-and-blue took part in 1946.
Coaching the basketball team this year is Dave Simmons, with the assistance of David Dumars, Edward Garriet and T.J. Marcum.
The Cowboys have participated 2 times in NCAA tournaments, first in 1989 and then in 2002 although unsuccessfully. Also participated twice in NIT Bids, the last one in 2001 and in 1986 when they achieved the victory. |
