Texas San Antonio Roadrunners

The men's basketball team from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) are known by the nicknamed the Roadrunners and Rowdy is their mascot. Their number 1 rival is considered Texas State.
Texas-San Antonio participated in the Southland Conference of the NCAA Division I, and is the only institution from San Antonio in Div. I.
The UTSA Roadrunners managed to qualified in three occasions 1988 was the first time, and in 1999 and 2004 not only qualified, but won the SLC title.
The former NBA player, Brooks Thompson, comes for his second season as head coach of the Roadrunners, with the assistant coaches: Dan O'Dowd, Robert Guster and Jay Spoonhour.
Last season 2007-08, the Roadrunners as an average season, by ending with an overall record of 13-17 and with a conference record of 7-9. During this season 2008-09, the Roadrunners hopes to have a better recruiting class, who can make a difference this period.
