The Florida Atlantic Owls are the basketball team representing the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in the Sun Belt Conference (SBC) from NCAA Division I.

The Owls enter the East Division of the SBC in 2007, after being members of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASC) from 1993 to 2006. Before becoming part of the ASC they were in Div-II between 1988 and 1993.

While they FAU's team was still in the ASC they reached the NCAA tournament, but couldn't go further the 15 seed and left in the first round.

For Sun Belt Conference 2007-2008 the Owls finished with a conference record of 8-10 and 15-18 for overall record.
