Gonzaga University's men basketball team is called the Bulldogs and it has been the most successful sport in the school.

The team plays its home games in the McCarthney Athletic Center since 2004, and the team opened the arena with a streak of 38-game win, the longest in the NCAA.

The Bulldogs is the only mid-major team to have reached each of the last nine NCAA Tournaments.

Overall, the team has been invited in the tournament 10 times, has a 12-10 record and in 1999 reached the Elite 8.

Among the school's notable former players who made it to the NBA we can mention J.P Batista, Dan Dickau, Richie Frahm and John Stockton.

Last  season 2007-2008, Gonzaga ended with an impressive conference record of 13-1 and an overall record of 25-8, in which they got to the NCAA Tournament but lost in the first round against the surprise team Davidson 76-82. This season 2008-09, the Bulldogs expect a further position in the NCAA Tournament.
