The San Diego Toreros men's basketball team has been with the WCC since the team entered to the NCAA Division I, in the 1979-80 Season.
The team has had 3 appearances in the NCAA Tournament, though it hasn't win any tournament game yet.
The Toreros play their home games at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, wich opened its doors in October, 2000.
Among the former Toreros who currently play in the NBA we can mention Mike Brown, Hank Egan and Chris Grant of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Bernie Bickerstaff of the Charlotte Bobcats, Eric Musselman of the Sacramento Kings, Neal Meyer of the L.A. Clippers and David Fizdale of the Atlanta Hawks.
