The Santa Clara University men's basketball tem is called the Broncos and has been member of the WCC since 1952.

The Broncos have won nine WCC regular season titles and two conference tournaments/

The team has played in 11 NCAA Tournaments, their best performance was in 1952 when they advanced to the Final Four. After that, they reached the Elite 8 in 1969 and the Sweet 16 in 1970.

The Broncos have also been invited four times to the NIT, reaching the quarterfinals in 1984.

Among the most recognized Broncos that have played professional basketball there is Steve Nash, who was the NBA MVP in 2005 and 2006 seasons.
