JiR Team Scot’s history dates back to 2005 when the principal Gianluce Montiron led the team to its first World Championship.
The group obtained very good results with the Japanese rider Makoto Tamada but only two years later Shinya Nakano replaced him and Nakano tested the new motorcycle model but the results were not as expected.
Nevertheless; the team changed its strategies and hired for the 2008 season the well-known 125cc World Champion rider Andrea Dovizioso as the team’s leader. This has delivered excellent results as Dovizioso is currently in the 8th position I the overall standing.
Due to the JiR team’s short period in the racing world they have not yet managed to win a world title.
