Ducati’s early beginnings date back to the mid 1920’s when the company produced motor parts.
Later on by the 1950’s they had developed an engine and bike model known as “cucciolo” which was basically the company’s stepping stone for the improved models to come.
Throughout the years Ducati has gained recognition and status amongst the best high performance motorcycling designers.
The team was part of the racing world until 1973 when it withdrew for approximately 30 years until 2003 when once again it joined the Grand Prix Motorcycling Championship.
That same year Loris Capirossi who was the main rider captured a podium position in Japan and actually won the race in Barcelona. For the 2005 season Ducati switched tyres supplier to Bridgestone.
More recently in 2007; Ducati signed a new face his name was Casey Stoner who won that same year the MotoGP Championship in the Japanese circuit.
Casey Stoner and colleague Marco Melandri will continue to ride for Ducati for the 2008 motorcycle season.
