The team known as the Indiana Pacers were first founded in 1967 and it joined the NBA in 1976. The team’s headquarters are based in Indianapolis, Indiana.
During the Pacers’ early days they played at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum (now known as the Pepsi Coliseum), previous to their move to the Market Square Arena where they played for 25 years and currently their home arena has been the Conseco Field house since 1999.
The Pacers record during the 2007 campaign was 35-47 with a winning percentage of .426, one of the lowest and worst seasons in their history.
The team didn’t make it to the playoffs for the first time since 1997 season.
Their current head coach is Jim O’Brien, who came in after the dismissal of Rick Carlisle in April 2007.
