The Vancouver Grizzlies was the first name used by the team when it was created in 1995 to the Southwest Division. 

In the year 2000 the team moved to Memphis and then became the Memphis Grizzlies.

Overall the team has an all-time record of 340 wins, 692 loses and a .329 winning percentage.

During their first season 1995-1996 the Grizzlies ended with the worst record losing 23 straight games. For the next 2 seasons the Grizzlies still struggle and finished both season in the last position in the league.

Some of the Rockets most outstanding players are: Jason Williams, Greg Anthony, Bonzi Wells, Mike Bibby, Pau Gasol, Byron Scott, and Eddie Jones.

For the upcoming 2007-2008 season the Spaniard player Pau Gasol was traded to Los Angeles Lakers in order for the team to acquire additional players to reinforce their weak points.

Some of the team’s recent player acquisitions have been; Damon Stoudamire, Bobby Jackson, Warrick and Eddie Jones during the 2006 season; that same year the team made it to the playoffs.
