The New Orleans basketball team known as the Hornets was established in 1988.
They played their first season that same year despite the lack of experience. The following two seasons were a struggle for the team which was new in the league.
Later on for the 1992-1993 campaign the team got back on their feet and had the first playoff presentation in the team’s history.
During the team’s time in the professional league they have not achieved a division or conference title.
The team was back on the news in the year 2000 when the former Chicago Bulls player Michael Jordan began to negotiate to become a half owner of the team. |
Former NBA player Byron Scott has been leading the Hornets since 2005. Some of his career’s highlights include coaching teams like the LA Lakers, Indiana Pacers, and the Greek team of Panathinaikos. During his three previous seasons with the Hornets he has not achieved to enter the playoffs.
For the 2007-2008 season the Hornets are moving back to the New Orleans Arena as of April, 2008 where they will play their home games. For the moment the team leads the Western Conference.
