The Portland Trail Blazers team was created 38 years ago.
The team has had an extensive history in the sport achieving a total of four Division titles and three conference titles being their first one in 1977 only seven years after the establishment; additionally that same year the team won their first and only NBA Championship.
The Portland’s most famous player trades have been in 1995 with players Clyde Drexler and Tracy Murray who were exchanged for Otis Thorpe. Followed by the 2004 trade of Wesley Person and Rasheed Wallace for Dan Dickau, Theo Ratliff and Shareef Abdur-Rahim.
Amongst some the Blazers’ hall of famers we can mention: Jim Paxson, Wayne Cooper and Clyde Drexler. |
The Blazes’ current coach is the American Nate McMillan who has been leading the team for the previous three seasons; however the Blazers have only achieved middle position rankings at the season end missing the playoffs in both occasions. During the present 2007-2008 season the team has gathered 38 wins and 38 loses and currently hold the third position in the conference.
Despite the team’s record of 21 playoffs appearances the Blazers have not gone over the first playoff round since 2000.
