The Jazz basketball team was founded in 1974 and they were originally established in New Orleans, Louisiana but by 1979 the team moved to Salt Lake City in Utah.
Throughout their history, the Utah Jazz has won 8 Division titles being the first in 1984, as well as two consecutive conference titles in 1997 and 1998.
During the 1980s, the team acquired two of the most prominent players in nba history; point guard John Stockton and power forward Karl Malone. They became an unstoppable powerhouse leading the team to many playoffs.
The team’s Head Coach continues to be American Jerry Sloan who has been around over the past 20 seasons since 1988-89 until today; he is basically the coach who has been the longest with one single franchise in the professional league.
For 2008-09, the duo Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams might not be John Stockton and Karl Malone, but they are getting the work done. They also have aptitude surrounding the team with Andrei Kirlilenko , Kyle Korver, Ronnie Brewer, Mehmet Okur, and now Kosta Koufos on the team.
The team managed 48 wins, 34 losses and a .585 winning percentage on this regular season and clinched the last berth of the Western Conference for the 2009 NBA Playoffs.
