In the season that the 3-point field goal percentage NBA record was broken by Kyle Korver, who converted 53.4% of his attempts, the Utah Jazz where 5th in the Western Conference and reached the playoffs with a 2009-10 regular season record of 53-29. Guided by Deron Williams’ 18.7 points per game and Carlos Boozer’s 19.5, the Jazz defeated the Denver Nuggets 4-2 in the First Round and made it to the Conference Semifinals. The resistance found in the defending champions -the Los Angeles Lakers- was such that they were swept 4-0, and so where their illusions of making it to the final.
