The Jazz basketball team was founded in 1974 and they were originally established in New Orleans, Louisiana. Later on in 1979 the team moved to Salt Lake City in Utah.
Throughout its history the Utah Jazz has won 8 Division titles being the first in 1984.
The team acquired two of the most prominent players in the game; point guard John Stockton and power forward Karl Malone. They became an unstoppable powerhouse leading the team to a period good positions.
During the team’s last campaign in 2006-2007 the team managed 53 wins, 27 loses and a .617 winning percentage. That same season the Jazz won the conference semifinals but lost to San Antonio Spurs in 5 games. |
The team’s Head Coach continues to be American Gerald Sloan who has been around over the past 20 seasons since 1988-89 until today; he is basically the coach who has been the longest with one single franchise in the professional league.
Some of the Jazz most notable players are: Thurl Bailey, Greg Ostertag, Mike Brown, Byron Russell, Karl Malone, John Stockton, and Frank Layden.
