The University of Miami Hurricanes football team is a member of the ACC and is one of the preeminent teams of college football. Miami has won five national championships, making it the most successful college football team of the past quarter century.
Miami also have the NCAA record for the longest home winning streak (58 games), a span which ran from 1985 to 1994.
In addition, two Hurricanes have won the prestigious Heisman Trophy: in 1986 quarterback Vinny Testaverde and in 1992 quarterback Gino Torretta.
