The football team belongs to the Hofstra University that is located in Hempstead, New York and was formerly known as the “Flying Dutchmen”.
Their current logo is linked to the term of Lions and a pair of Lions became the school’s athletic mascot in the late of 1980s.
The school’s main outdoor athletic facility is named James M. Shuart Stadium in honor to their former football star and the idea to change the name back in 2002 is to represent the way of keeping the pride in the school’s roots. |
