The team joined the CAA Conference in 2007 after competing in the Patriot League Conference and in the Atlantic 10. The Tigers play their home games in the Johnny Unitas Stadium at Minnegan Field, which was built for the first CAA conference season in 2002.

In their 40 seasons, the Towson Tigers have never won a title but hope to do so in the future. Coach Gordy Combs was the head coach from 1991 to 2008 season. Combs will be replaced by Rob Ambrose after a poor season with the Tigers, ending with a record of 3-9 overall.

For the 2009 season Coach Rob Ambrose hopes to restructure the program and improve the team’s record.
