• Some of the Big East conference most important sports facilities used to host the college football games are: Rutgers Stadium with a capacity for 42,000 spectators, Rentschler Field in Connecticut with 40,000 seats and Carrier Dome in Syracuse for almost 50,000 fans.
  


• The Big East holds a record of the most teams participating in the NCAA tournament
  


• Currently eight members of the Big East are private-catholic universities while only six of the schools are public.
  


• The Big East conference fields a total of 23 sports of which 13 are for women and 10 are for men.
