Based in Ogden, Utah, the Weber State Wildcats Hornets are members of the Big Sky Conference in the NCAA Division I. The Wildcats started their first football season in 1962 and joined the BSC the following year.
In Utah, the Wildcats play in the Stewart Stadium, which was opened in 1966. Over their 47 seasons, the Wildcats have only won two conference championships: in 1967 and 1968. The football team recently changed leadership, signing new head coach Ron McBride.
During the 2008 season, the Wildcats ended with 7-1 record in the conference, the best single season record in school history. Overall the team finished 10-4 and lost in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Playoff Quarterfinals.
