• The Big South’s best season was back in the 2004-05 season.
  


• Jim Maxwell was the first Big South player to play within the NFL.
  


• Coastal Carolina University was the first member of the Big South Conference that went to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division-I Championship.
  


• So far, four players have been named to the 36-member I-AA Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team, being the Big South’s largest representation for the national team in its six-year football history.
