Based in Boiling Spring, North Carolina, the Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs are members of the Big South Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Runnin’ Bulldogs joined the BSC in 2002 although the team has been playing its home games at the Spangler Stadium since 1969.
In their 8 years playing in the Big South, the Runnin’ Bulldogs haven’t yet won a title but hope to do so in the future with the help of his coach Steve Patton, who has been with Gardner-Webb for over two decades.
During 2008, the Runnin’ Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 5-6, giving them the 4th place of the BSC; the team lost its last two games of the 2008-09 season.
