Based in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, the Duquesne Dukes are members of the Northeast Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Dukes began playing in the NEC in 2008 but, in recent years, the Duquesne football team became a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, in which it won 11 conference titles, including nine in a row and 11 of the past 13 seasons.
The Dukes play their home games at the Arthur J. Rooney Athletic Field. In its 81 years, the DU football team became the ECAC Bowl champion in 1995 as well as the NCAA Division I FCS Mid-Major National Champions in 2003.
In 2008, the Dukes finished with an overall record of 3-7and obtained the sixth place of the NEC with a conference record of 2-5, losing the last game of the season against Monmouth 37-14.
