The South Dakota State Jackrabbits football team is part of the Great West Football Conference and participates at the NCAA Division I-AA. Their official mascot is the “jackrabbit”.
The team has been pretty steady in performance over the years and has managed to bring home 14 NCC championship titles while it was part of the NCAA Division II.
SDSU teams moved to the NCAA Division in 2004.
In the 2008 the Jackrabbits will leave the Great West Conference to compete with the Gateway Football Conference.
