College Football - FCS Independents
Football Championship Subdivision Independents
The Division I Football Championship Subdivision Independents are a group of institutions or schools in the United States that do not belong to an active conference but these universities compete with their football programs independently.
Throughout the years there has been an increase of independent schools; currently the FSC counts with a total of five members:
- Iona College
- Marist College
- Bryant University
- North Carolina Central University
- Savannah State University.
Some of the schools mentioned above were part of other conferences but these became independent due to several agreements. Most of the current independent members are Private schools from the Eastern area.
Marist College located in the Poughkeepsie area in New York will become part of the Pioner Football League as of the 2009 season
