Based in Terre Haute, Indiana, the Indiana State Sycamores are members of the Missouri Valley Football Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Sycamores became part of the MVFC in 1986 after competing in the Indiana Collegiate Conference and the Midwestern Conference.

At Terre Haute, the Sycamores play their home games at the Memorial Stadium, which has a capacity of 20,500. In Indiana State football history, the team has only won one conference championship.
