Based in Hanover, New Hampshire, the Dartmouth Big Green has been a member of the Ivy League Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA since 1956. The team possesses a great history, including a national championship in 1925, seventeen Ivy League championships, the most recent in 1996, and eleven College Football Hall of Fame players and coaches.
The Big Green has played their home games at Memorial Field since 1893; however the stadium was burned in 1911 and was rebuilt and then reopened in 1923.
The present coach of the Big Green, Buddy Teevens, who as a player won the1978 Ivy League championship with Dartmouth, led Dartmouth football to two consecutive Ivy League titles in 1990 and 1991. After that year Teevens left the school but returned as the head coach of the Big Green football program in 2005.
In 2008, Dartmouth finished in last place of the Ivy League with an overall record of 0-10, losing all the games for first time in the team’s history, setting the worst record in team history.
