Based in New Haven, Connecticut, the Yale Bulldogs have been members of the Ivy League Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA since 1956. The Bulldogs play their home games in the Yale Bowl, which is one of the oldest stadiums in the US, established in 1914.

The Bulldogs have won 17th conference titles in their history, the last one in 1999. Yale had 33 coaches over the years. The most recent is Tom Williams, who is replacing Coach Jack Siedlecki, who retired in late November after 12 seasons. 

In 2008, the Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 6-4 and ended in fourth place of the Ivy Conference, losing the last game 0-10 to Harvard.
