Based in New York City, the Columbia Lions have been members of the Ivy League Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA since 1956. The Lions play their home games at Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium at the Baker Field Athletics Complex, which was founded in 1984.
The Lions were very successful during the first half of the 20th century. Recognized players from that era include All-American Sid Luckman, a quarterback who would go on to lead the Chicago Bears to four NFL championships on the 1940's. The Lions have won a total of one championship in their history, during the season of 1961.
Last season, the Columbia Lions ended in 6th place of the Ivy League with an overall record of 2-8, losing the last game of the season against Brown with a score of 10-41.
