Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, the North Carolina A&T Aggies have been members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA since 1970. The Aggies play their home games at the Aggie Stadium, which was opened in 1981 and has a capacity of 21,500.
Since joining the MEAC, the Aggies have won five conference championships, in 1986, 1991, 1992, 1999 and 2003.
The current athletic director Wheeler Brown is a former football player who was inducted into the N.C A&T Hall of Fame in 2003.
With a 3-9 overall record for the 2008 season, the Aggies not only ended in 8th place overall for the MEAC but they also ended winning just one conference game with a 1-7 record.
