TCU or Texas Christian University was founded in 1873 and it has an extend football background in the NCAA Division I.
The school football team is known as the TCU Horned Frogs and over the last decade the school has won four conference titles; two of these as members of the Western Athletic Conference, one as a USA conference member and the most recent one in 2005 within the Mountain West Conference.
Among some of the schools’ most famous football players are: Davey O'Brien (a Heisman Trophy winner), Darrell Lester, Ki Aldrich, Jim Swink, Sonny Gibbs and 2006-07 NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson.
The school’s football home area is the Amon G. Carter Stadium which holds 44,088 spectators and opened in 1930. |
