UNLV was founded in 1957 as a public university and it is a member of the Mountain West Conference in the NCAA's Division I.
UNLV athletic teams are known as the Rebels and the men's football team participates in the NCAA’s Division I.
Every year UNLV plays Nevada for the Fremont Cannon in the Battle for Nevada.
The school’s football stadium was first opened in 1971 and it is named the Sam Boyd stadium in Las Vegas with a seating capacity as of 1999 of 36,800. |
