The University of Utah was first founded in 1850 as a public university; it is also known as “The U” or the “U of U” and it is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The school has produced many remarkable sports alumni among which we can mention: SFO 49ers Quarterback, 1st overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft - Alex Smith, Bob Trumpy - former NFL tight end and current Sports broadcasting commentator and former NFL wide receiver - Kevin Dyson.
The school’s most fierce rivalry is with its neighbor Brigham Young University as well as with BYU Cougars. The sports teams are called the “Utes” and they participate in the NCAA Division I-A for football. |
