Based in Albany, New York, the Albany Great Danes are members of the Northeast Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Danes joined the NEC in 1999 after competing in the ECAC and the East Football Conference. The Albany team plays its home games at the University Field.
Over their history, the Danes have won one ECAC North Championship(D-III), two East Football Conference Championships and three Northeast Conference Championships . The Albany Great Danes’ current head coach, Bob Ford, enters his 36th season with the team and holds a record of 216-140.
