The university was founded in 1874 and it is located in Richmond, Virginia. The school is usually known as Eastern or EKU.
The school’s football team is known as the Colonels and it has been quite successful in football winning so far 16 OVC conference titles and in 1979 and 1982 the Division I-AA National Championships.
Among some of the remarkable school former players are: Yeremiah Bell (Starting Safety, Miami Dolphins), Chad Bratzke (Defense end, NY Giants and Indianapolis Colts), Wally Chambers (Winner of 1973 Defensive NFL Rookie of the Year Award) and Danny Copeland (Starter on the Red Skins Super Bowl XXVI champions). |
