Based in Jacksonville, Alabama, the Jacksonville State Gamecocks are members of the Ohio Valley Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Gamecocks played their first OVC game in 2003, when they joined the Ohio Valley. The JSU Gamecocks play their home games at the Paul Snow Stadium.
The Gamecocks have won the OVC title on two occasions during the 2003 and 2004 season and were champions of the NCAA Division II in 1992. Moreover, thirteen of the team’s players have become professional football players in the NFL over the years.
In 2008, the Gamecocks finished with an overall record of 8-3 and obtained the third place of the OVC with a conference record of 6-2, winning the last three games of the season.
