The university was first created in 1868 and it was originally known as Corvallis College. The school’s main campus has an extension of 577 acre (2.34 km²) and it is located in the center of Willamette Valley.
The university’s athletic team is known as the Beavers which are part of the Pacific 10 conference. The football team main key rival is the University of Oregon.
Some of the school’s most outstanding football students are: NFL cornerback in 2005 and current free agent Brandon Browner, NFL placekicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Matt Bryant, NFL placekicker from 1999–2006 and current free agent José Cortéz and NFL defensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens Dwan Edwards. |
