ASU has a local and classic rivalry with the AU since 1899 and both teams compete for the Territorial Cup each year in a game called The Duel in the Dessert.
The Sun Devils play their home games at the Sun Devil Stadium, which opened in 1959 and has a capacity of 71,706 seats. The ASU has won a total of 17 Conference titles; seven in the Border Conference, 7 in the WAC and 3 in the PAC-10. The last championship was attained in 2007. The Devils have played in 24 bowls in their history of which they have won 12, lost 11 and tied 1.
