The university was created in 1885 as a public institution in the state of Arizona.
The school Division I athletic teams are known as the Sun Devils.
The Sun Devils football team is part of the Pacific 10 conference; the team has had many appearances in bowl games such as: 1971-1972-1973, 1975- and 1982 Fiesta Bowl, Rose Bowl (1997) and Holiday Bowl (2007).
Yearly, the school competes against their most fierce rival University of Arizona for “the Territorial Cup”. |
