Based in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, the Bucknell Bison are members of the Patriot League Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Bison joined the PL in 1986 and have played their home games at the Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium since 1924; the stadium was renovated in 1989.
During its history, the Bucknell Bison football team has only won one conference title, during the season of 1996.
Bucknell has won three or fewer games per season three times in the last 15 years, with the most recent in the 2007 season when the Bison posted a 3-8 record. For 2008, however, the Bison had a better season, ending in 5th place of the PL with an overall record of 5-6 and a 2-4 in conference play.
