Based in Worcester, Massachusetts, the Holy Cross Crusaders have been members of the Patriot League Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA since 1986. The Crusaders plays their home games at the Fitton Football Stadium, which was opened in 1905.
Since their inclusion in the Patriot League, the Crusaders have won five conference titles; the last PL championship was obtained in 1991.
For the 2008 season, the Raiders ended with an overall record of 7-4 record in the season and finished in second place of the PL. In conference play the Panthers ended with a 5-1 record, losing the last game of the season against Yale 28-31.
