Based in Washington, the Georgetown Hoyas are members of the Patriot League Conference in the NCAA Division I-AA. The Georgetown football team joined the PL in 2001 after competing in the Division III and then in the MAAC Division I.
In all their years at the Division I, the Hoyas haven’t won a conference title but hope to do so in the future. One of the best football players of all-times in Georgetown was Al Blozis, who would play for the NFL's New York Giants but was later killed in World War II.
In 2008, the Hoyas finished with an overall record of 2-8 and obtained the last place of the PL with a conference record of 0-5, losing the last game of the season.
